Which video platform does it work with?
Any platform that lets you share your screen, like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or your company’s own platform. Smarty Ears Online runs in a browser tab, so you share that tab or window. There’s nothing to install.
Does my student need an account or a download?
No. In a live session your student sees your shared screen, so they don’t need anything. Student logins are for practicing on their own between sessions, on Professional Plus: a username and password, or a login card with a QR code they scan. No email needed.
Can my student click the answers themselves?
Yes, if your video platform lets a participant control your shared screen (Zoom calls it remote control). Otherwise your student says or points to the answer and you click it. Either way, the answer is recorded.
Is it good for articulation?
Articulation is where it’s strongest: sounds by age, phonological processes and cycles patterns, initial, medial and final position, word, phrase and sentence levels, 17 speech-sound activities from sound in isolation to stories, and a speech sound profile that shows accuracy for every sound.

Can I run group sessions?

How is data recorded?
You score each try with C (correct), A (approximate) or W (wrong), on screen or on your keyboard. In activities where the student picks an answer, the pick is scored for you. Each answer is saved with the word, the target sound and position, the level and the time. Correct and approximate answers count toward accuracy.
What do I get for documentation?
Each student has a progress page with accuracy by area and by goal over the last 30 days, 6 weeks, 90 days, the school year, all time or your own dates. It writes a summary you can copy into a progress note, and it downloads as a PDF progress report or a spreadsheet. Session notes are saved for each student.
Can I share progress with families and schools?
Yes. Every student’s progress page downloads as a PDF progress report to share with the family, the school or the IEP team, and the speech sound profile has its own Share button. On Professional Plus you can also message the family from the student’s page.
Is there a goal bank?
Yes. 1,200+ ready-to-use goals, plus your own. Each goal has a baseline, a target and a level of support, from independent to full physical prompt.
Can families practice at home?
Yes, on Professional Plus. Set up the student’s login in one click, then send home the printed login card or email the login to the caregiver. Does a student login need an email address?
No. You choose Set up student login on the student’s page and confirm it’s for school use or that you have the parent’s or guardian’s permission. The username and password show on the student’s page, and you can print a login card or email it to a caregiver if you like. Lost a card? Make a new password and the old card stops working.
Is my students’ information private?
